Mike Kral's He-Man Guys Club membership is in jeopardy. He is 30 years old, was born and raised in Browns Country -- and hasn't seen a Super Bowl in eight years. But it's not as if he hasn't wanted to see one. It's just that he and his partner, Mike Connors, own Romito's Pizza West in Independence, and Super Bowl Sunday trails only Halloween as the busiest day of the year. The two friends, who worked at the store during high school and college before buying it in 2001, will go through 550 pounds of dough, 300 pounds of cheese and at least 40 gallons of tomato sauce. Kral, evidence of his trade on the forest green Romito's T-shirt, laughed about the weekend awaiting him as he sat in the small dining room of his Brecksville Road shop Wednesday. He plans to work 30 of the 48 hours that make up Super Bowl weekend. But he will be doing the scut work. That includes making dough, preparing the pepperoni and cheeses - in the basement of the shop. It will be the four or five drivers Romito's sends into the delivery pattern with more than 100 sheet pizzas and four times that many regular pies who will score. Super Bowl weekend drivers usually average a minimum $5 tip per delivery. Dana Harville, a spokeswoman for Ann Arbor, Mich.-based Domino's Pizza, said $10 to $20 tips aren't uncommon - especially if the buyer's team is leading. The situation at Romito's is a microcosm of the national scene.
